The Gray Man[]

Fitzroy meets Courtland

Courtland Gentry was visited by Donald Fitzroy, who wanted to hire him for the CIA.

In 2003, senior CIA official Donald Fitzroy visits a prisoner named Courtland Gentry in Florida eight years into a very long sentence, which made him eligible for parole until 2031. The reaosn why Courtland is in prison is due to him killing his abusive father in order to protect his brother. Fitzroy offers him his freedom in exchange for working as an assassin in the CIA's Sierra program, existing in the gray and says that he would become a value-add. Fitzroy also mentions that Courtland would be indefinitely useful.

18 years later when Six manages to get his hands on a drive which contained valuable information incriminating Carmichael, he calls Fitz requesting extraction, which he grants him.

Lloyd confronts Fitzroy

Knowing that Fitzroy and Six have a special bond, Lloyd attacked Fitzroy in order to find Six.

In order to stop Six and get the drive back in his possession, Carmichael hires mercenary Lloyd Hansen, who is a former CIA agent kicked out for his sociopathic tendencies. Excited by the new job he has, Hansen applies pressure by not attacking Six directly, but rather by attacking Fitzroy, who he knows Six has a close relationship to. However, he does not attack Fitzroy directly either, but rather chooses to attack his niece Claire, forcing Fitzroy to authorize Six's murder by the extraction team. However, Six is able to fight all of them off and escapes, calling Fitzroy from Turkey. Fitzroy reveals that he had no choice but to betray him and Lloyd decides to talk to Six directly, saying that he would get the drive from him by using force.

Fitz is kept alongside his niece until Six shows up and they start to escape. However, mortally wounded as they flee, Fitzroy sacrifices himself attempting to kill Hansen
